Give a Little Bit...More

November 23, 2022

Give a Little Bit is the opening song from Supertramp‘s 1977 album Even in the Quietest Moments. The upbeat song was written by band member Roger Hodgson several years before he shared it with the rest of the band. The upbeat and uplifting song was reportedly inspired by the Beatle’s song All You Need is Love.

Give a little bit
Oh, give a little bit of your love to me
I'll give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my love to you
There's so much that we need to share
So send a smile and show you care

We are happy to report that this mindset and mentality inspires our culture of abundance and sharing at both Impel Wealth Management and our partners at Horizon Advisor Network

This was on full display during the month of October. As I shared with you this summer, I was named to the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisor list for the fifth consecutive year. As always, this is a testament to the strength of the entire Impel team and their dedication to serving our clients. This allowed me to attend the Forbes Top Wealth Advisor conference last month. Over 800 advisors who are in the top echelon of their profession were there.

We had two days of presentations from some of the top economists, money managers, and other peer group advisors. During the conference, we also had the blessing of being able to raise nearly $1 million for pediatric cancer research. I took over 14 pages of notes during those two days. This gave me the chance to give more than just a little bit of information, analysis, and outlook with the other advisors from both Impel and Horizon over the next few weeks.

Two weeks later, our managing partner, Peter J. Bush, CFP, and the team at Horizon Advisor Network hosted nearly 60 people in Baton Rouge for a two-day Connect-in-Person conference. We had the chance to hear both virtual content from Cetera‘s Connect conference and in-person presentations.

During this time, the founding members of the Investylitics Investment Committee, Kevin Myers, PPC, of ATL Global Advisors, and Clint Gautreau, CFP, of Horizon Financial Group and I had the chance to spend 30 minutes sharing the resources, research, outlook, and economic commentary that we make available to 60 advisors, across 20 offices, managing nearly $3.5B of investment assets for the benefit of our clients.

It was great to have the opportunity for Nathan Ollish, CFP, AIF, and Irene Zurowski, CFP, CRPS, to be able to be with the group. It was a great time of learning, friendship, and fellowship that we all missed during our COVID experience. We are happy that Impel Wealth Management is part of the Horizon ecosystem. We love the abundance mentality, where sharing and helping each other creates a rising tide that lifts all ships.

Give a little bit
Oh, give a little bit of your love to me
I'll give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my life for you
Now's the time that we need to share
So find yourself, we're on our way back home

While Supertramp shared the blessing of what it was like to give a little bit, I am happy to be part of a network that shares way more than that. It is part of what guides and motivates us to give a whole lot more to you, our trusted friends, and clients, as we continue “Moving Life Forward”.
