Since the pandemic overwhelmed the economy and the markets in the spring of 2020, our team and our clients have had the opportunity to revisit the wisdom of staying true and aligned with your lifetime financial plans, rather than reacting to tumultuous and emotional current events.
This will probably not be the last time that we will have the opportunity to practice patience and discipline in the years to come. Indeed, as I look over the 30 years of my career thus far, there have been plenty of circumstances that required similar behavior. Two Persian Gulf Wars, the Dot.Com bubble, 9/11, the Great Financial Crisis... just to name a few. In fact, in the last 20 years, there have been seven separate viral pandemics. And while the media sounded the alarm bells with the onset of each one, none compared to what we have been through over the last 18 months.
We have learned that success in our financial and investment lives is relatively simple, even if it is not easy. Make a goal-focused plan for the benefit of your family and what is most important in life to you and stick to it.
I am reminding you of this today because you may have a relative, friend or colleague who perhaps has not had a similar experience during the pandemic, the recession and the bitterly contested election. They might have benefited from this sort of collaborative approach that the team at Impel Wealth and our valued friends and clients are pursuing.
If you know this to be the case, we would certainly appreciate you introducing them to us. We very much enjoy working with you and would welcome the opportunity to offer the same level of wealth management services to the people you care about.
Thanks, as always, for being our client. I look forward to our next meeting. Should you have any questions or need anything before then, please reach out. We are here to help.
Have a great day.
