Our Circus

January 04, 2022

More often than not on my commute to work each morning, I end up stuck briefly at the traffic light at the intersection of Broad and Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls. At that light, it is come to be a bit of a pattern that I also end up stuck behind the same vehicle several days a week- a big, white conversion van with a bumper sticker that says, “the moment you realize these are your monkeys and this is your circus.”

It brings a smile to my face every morning as I think about the possible similarities the driver of the van is experiencing to what Lauren and I are enjoying right now- and even more so after we welcomed our third son, Graham David, into the world on the evening of September 27th. Having three boys ages 4 and under has so far proven to be both a huge blessing for us, and some very challenging moments- sometimes within the same 30-minute span! Our home is loud more often than not, with the sounds of little voices and running feet as our two older boys chase and play with all manner of trucks, planes, trains, and dinosaurs. Graham for his part is pretty content and does not seem bothered by the noise, and really comes into his element whenever he has someone to talk to. Harvey and Miles enjoy encouraging their baby brother as he is beginning to grow and are quick to give him kisses and “pets” to show their love and approval.

Although I don’t think our house is going to calm down or slow down anytime soon, we know we are blessed with our 3 little monkeys and the circus they bring to our lives. We are excited for what the future holds as we continue to Move Life Forward for our family.
