"With a Little Help from My Friends" is a song recorded by the Beatles for their 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It was written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon and is sung by drummer Ringo Starr in his Sgt. Pepper alter ego, Billy Shears. It is the second track on the album, and it segues from the applause on the title track. The song was ranked number 311 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Lennon and McCartney wrote the song specifically for Ringo’s limited vocal range. And when it came time to record the final take, the other Beatles stood around the microphone at 5:45 in the morning to support him as he delivered the lead vocal. True to the song’s title, Ringo got by with a little help from his friends.

If you would like a happy and upbeat song to hum along to today, I have included a YouTube link to the video below. Enjoy.

One of the great advantages of working with an advisor who’s been in the business for more than 35 years is the network that comes with it. We often share best ideas and best practices, and we'll do whatever we can to help each other get better… as an advisor and as a person. I love the abundance mentality and the collaboration, knowing that through this sharing, everyone will get better and that a rising tide truly lifts all boats.

Today, I would like to introduce you to one of Impel Wealth Management's great friends, Gene Goldman, the Chief Investment Officer of Cetera Investment Management. Gene joined the broker-dealer in 2011. He has assembled an incredible team of professionals to support Cetera's investment research and asset allocation process.

Gene and his team create a tremendous amount of content and resources that the CFPs at Impel Wealth utilize to help manage your hard-earned assets. Every weekday morning, we receive the Daily Market Briefing, which provides a quick synopsis of the day's economic and investment headlines so we can stay abreast of what may impact the markets and the economy. In addition, they publish Research Select lists of mutual funds and ETFs we may want to consider when building portfolios for our clients. They also create both strategic and tactical allocation models that we can use as a baseline for developing our own proprietary investment models.

If Gene's name sounds familiar, that's because he's everywhere. You have likely seen him on CNBC, Fox Business, Bloomberg TV, and many other networks.

Gene and his team also bring a unique sense of humor to their work, which makes it fun. They don't take themselves too seriously, even though they are doing incredibly important work. To help you get to know this team a little better, I am including two quick videos to introduce you to the smart people supporting the work we do here at Impel Wealth.

Finally, I would like to personally thank Gene for his help and encouragement with my PopEnomics book project. He was one of the first people I told about my idea, and he supported me throughout the project. This includes writing an endorsement for the book on our website, as shown below, with all required broker-dealer disclosure statements for testimonials.

Life is easier With a Little Help From Our Friends. Luckily for me, I am surrounded by many, many people who would fit this category. If you would like an abbreviated list of a few important people who have made a difference in my life, please see the acknowledgments section of PopEnomics.

Markets move. Economies evolve. Headlines change.

But relationships…and the people who stand around the microphone with you at 5:45 in the morning…those are what make the difference. Thanks to Gene and the team at Cetera Investment Management, it is a little easier for us to continue “Moving Life Forward.”
