The top 10 rock songs of 1965 include influential hits like The Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction and “Get Off of My Cloud”," The Beatles' "Help!" and "Yesterday," Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone," The Byrds' "Mr. Tambourine Man," The Who's "My Generation," The Animals' "We Gotta Get Out of This Place”, The McCoys “Hang On Sloopy," and The Beach Boys' "Help Me, Rhonda." These songs defined the era's sound and remain relevant and instantly recognizable today.

The list above encompasses a wide range of musical styles. It includes the British invasion songs of The Who, The Beatles, The Animals, and The Rolling Stones, as well as the folk rock stylings of Bob Dylan and The Birds, the California Surf sound of The Beach Boys, and the garage rock fuzz tone of The McCoys. One thing all these songs have in common, despite their various musical styles, is that they all turned 60 this year.
I found a fun video on YouTube that encompasses 100 songs turning age 60 in 2025. It is a 10-minute video that shows brief clips of many songs you will remember. I have included a link to it below for your reminiscing and listening pleasure.

I will also be turning 60 this year, and crossing that threshold on October 5th. To mark this milestone birthday, Rachel and I will be flying to Budapest on September 27th, where we will spend a few days before getting on a Viking River cruise on the Danube River. We will travel to Vienna, Austria, before concluding with a few days in Prague, the Czech Republic, and then flying back on October 10th.

This trip was inspired by many of you, my trusted friends and clients. You have shared many stories with me over the years about your travels. Almost every month, I come home with at least one story to share with Rachel about an adventure you have taken that you have said we must consider, as it was a fantastic experience. As a result, Rachel and I have a bucket list of future travel goals that is nearly two pages long. One of the things that I enjoy hearing about is how many of you use some of your hard-earned assets and financial resources to travel the world. This allows you to create shared memories with those you love, and the value of these shared experiences only increases over time. Below are a couple of pictures from our 2019 trip to Italy, which we often discuss.

I would like to ask you a favor during this time. It seems that many times when Rachel and I fly somewhere, and I turn on my phone after getting off the plane, I have emails and voicemail messages from some of you asking me to call them or return their messages as soon as possible, usually on the same day. This is typically not a problem, as I take great pleasure in being a trusted advisor to you.
However, we have continued to build out the team and infrastructure of Impel Wealth Management. This has been done so that you have trusted and experienced CFPs and administrative professionals in the office to serve you, whether I am there or not. I am going to ask you to reach out to my team and lean on the expertise of Certified Financial Planners, Nathan Ollish, CFP, and Irene Zurowski, CFP. They are experienced, and we have built systems to help you whether or not you talk to me. Impel Wealth works together as a team. We also have the backing and support of our Horizon Advisor Network partners. Our national ensemble has more than 70 financial advisors across the country. We have the resources of our entire group to assist you if you need anything while I am away.
This system worked well when Rachel and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in April 2024. As I prepare to celebrate my 60th birthday, alongside some amazing classic rock songs released in 1965, I trust that you understand our request and will support Rachel and me. Thank you so much for your understanding and help. When we get back from our “European Vacation”, I look forward to sharing some of the memories and experiences we created with you. It is part of the joy of having clients that you consider as family and friends. It also gives us meaning as we continue “Moving Life Forward.”
